Mystery file process running my CPU high

SOLUTION: I opted to just do a clean installation of Windows to avoid any chance of the malicious process remaining in effect.
A file was either added or modified on my PC yesterday as of this writing, asp.exe (in details also labelled aspy.exe) in a Microsoft .NET library folder. (C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319)
It has been running my CPU at half load anytime it appears and it only seems to appear when connected online. It labels itself as Windows Antispyware Service in Task Manager, but Googling the name leads me nowhere near answers. There was also a log file I unfortunately hastily deleted alongside the .exe in a panic, as a Malwarebytes scan run recently revealed a Trojan dropper and a bitcoin miner in my Windows directory, labelling themselves as Windows and Defender Update services respectively.
Before I deleted the files, I scanned them with VirusTotal to the tune of mostly negative results with two notable positives listing it as "high confidence" in it being malicious and another calling it a "variant of Win64/BitcoinMiner.CS" [https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/56bd1b22829c539b0d325c06d24ef53626033ee5269666f23db08257a02e13ba/analysis/1510569500/]
Any suggestions on what this is? I already quarantined the existing threats and deleted this suspicious file so I think I'm alright for now, I just need to know if I deleted something important in a panic or if I stumbled upon a newer kind of malware.
UPDATE: the log file returned, so probably not related to the process itself, labelled as "ngen.log"
UPDATE 2: asp.exe returned to the same directory. Doing a clean install anyway, but any advice about this file and how it's appearing would be helpful.

Bitcoin Classic Win64 Question: How to change blockchain folder location.

Hi,
I have a bitcoin core installation that is up to date, and after installing classic I pointed the blockchain folder to the same folder as my core installation.
But now Classic created a Bitcoin directory inside that directory with exactly the same files as the previous directory.
Is there a registry key that I can change to make classic look 1 folder up instead of the Bitcoin folder it created ?
Thanks :)

0xMonero, summary of findings

Edit: There was prior work by Artemiscult I didn't know about from a month ago!
Hi, this is a summary of my findings on 0xMonero, which claims to be "a mineable privacy focused project".
The contract was deployed on April 18th of this year, verified on Etherscan the same day, announced on Twitter soon after. It was announced on Bitcoin Talk about ten days later. 0xMonero's contract is an uncredited rip of 0xBitcoin's with only very small changes. The mining software recommended by 0xMonero was written for 0xBitcoin. There are two other more modern miners written for 0xBitcoin, but up until recently, they have only supported pool mining, not solo. My suspicion for why 0xMonero recommends the older miner is that they don't have anyone competent to run a mining pool.
Here's 0xMonero's stats page, and here's 0xBitcoin's. Look familiar? 0x1d00ffff wrote that page for 0xBitcoin about a month after the 0xBitcoin project started in February 2018. Here's the initial commit, and here are the changes 0xMonero made. When 0xMonero ripped it, at least they left the author's Etherscan link at the bottom.
Here's 0xMonero's official GitHub. As of now, there are 20 repos, but they are all forks, zero original repos. I've been told that 0xMonero has ten developers. When I asked to see their GitHub accounts, I was told that they were all too concerned with privacy. That doesn't make sense to me, since I've been doing anonymous development under various identities for years. Here's the account associated with my work for 0xBitcoin, and here's another project I work on with other anonymous developers.
Why does 0xMonero make reference to Monero? I don't know. As far as I can tell, 0xMonero has nothing to do with Monero. I can say with certainty that since 0xMonero's contract is an almost identical copy of 0xBitcoin's, and 0xBitcoin deliberately did not include privacy features, there are no privacy features in the 0xMonero contract. They would have to be elsewhere. But as far as I know, there is no other code to look at.
Here's a piece-by-piece analysis of the claims on 0xMonero's site:
Here's a thread started by DigitalInvestments2 who claims to be a top holder of 0xMonero. In that thread, I asked many direct questions, and was not able to receive any clarification or substantiation of any aspect of what 0xMonero says they are working on.
When I couldn't get answers in that thread, I reached out twice to the official 0xMonero Twitter account asking them to start a thread where it would be possible to get answers. I got blocked. At the same time, I was blocked by another related Twitter account. Here's that account lying about 0xMonero's (nonexistent) privacy features.
I started talking about this stuff on 0xMonero's Bitcoin Talk thread about a week ago. I have been unable to get any answers there, either. But someone in that thread reported me. For what, I don't know.
I think that's it for what I know about 0xMonero at the moment. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.
Edit: Here's that related Twitter account lying about 0xMonero's nonexistent privacy features again.
Edit: lying about 0xMonero's nonexistent privacy features again, and AGAIN. Suggesting to people that 0xMonero is somehow private is dangerous.
Edit: ... lying about privacy again.
Edit: agreement about 0xMonero most likely being a complete scam from a second source: https://twitter.com/CryptoScamCases/status/1292753105097031680
Edit: lying about privacy again. Noticing a trend with 0xMonero and lying?

TIFU by having my laptop used for bitcoin mining

FU is still in progress and I have no way of knowing when it started, which may be what is stressing me out the most right now. So come with me on a journey of regret while my fourth malware scanner of the night sits at 64% and my friends have gone to bed.
So the story, I guess, would begin back when I first started university, about five years ago. I got into art school for visual communication and planned on becoming an animator. To celebrate and to support me, my dad bought me a kick ass lenovo gaming laptop with the power of a billion suns (as you may come to guess, I am not tech savvy. Definitely not tech savvy enough to own this laptop) capable of running several adobe programs at once, with a RAM wide enough to put my mother's behind to shame, with an internal disk memory as big as the disappointment in my father's eyes. College begins, websites for illicit procuration of expensive programs exist, my naive young sunshine self doesn't even know what a VPN is, and for some reason which is is causing me an enormous amount of self-hatred right now, owning a top of the range gaming laptop with amazing everything doesn't seem like a good enough reason for me to pay for an antivirus, so I go with the free software, the ffp1 option, the least-amount-of-having-to-think-about-it choice, because I would totally NOT regret that later, perhaps five years later, at 3 AM - ironically while trying to animate for the first time ever.
I continue my happy little life with my absolute beast of a laptop but shit happens and I never actually go into animation, I go into printmaking, which is the most analog of art forms possibly ever, so between having a huge amount of studio work, thesis research and just life stuff, my laptop spends the prime of his life as a glorified facebook machine, a particularly large and lovely screen to watch parks and rec on perhaps. Or so I think...
Now I may have noticed performance issues at various points, in fact now that I think about it I moved away from using photoshop a long time ago, and when I think about it further I even got a new wacom tablet last winter, because of the unbearable lag... the shame covers me like a wet blanket. What a fucking idiot. No refrigerator-buzz noises, wheezing fans or uncomfortably hot undersides were enough to make me go "hey, perhaps my free antivirus is a piece of rubbish, and it would be worth ten minutes of my time to run a slightly deeper scan than just the automatic stuff that I even only run when it gets absolutely forced on me". No. I had to just plow on, forgetting that my computer ever ran quietly at all, or that it once harnessed the power of a billion suns, that crashes and reboots and long waiting times are not supposed to happen.
Around October 2019 I got annoyed enough to look into how to even use a split drive computer for the first time, and I moved all my bulky user folders to a different drive, and patted myself on the shoulder real good for being such a computer wizard. Hell I even cleaned my registry!
But let's get to the point... amongst many minor technological issues for which my solution is to ignore until I forget, is the fact that my phones memory is full because i am constantly photographing everything with it, but for some reason my laptop stopped recognising my phone as a device. So I started poking around yesterday, and when I tried to update windows I got an error code saying that one or more updates failed. You know that scene in Spirited Away when San pulls on a tiny string in the side of the super stinky bath house guest and a huge stream of pollution comes roaring out? Yeah. Somewhere at the horizon of my mind the thought passed by that it was weird that I hadn't been getting push notifications about windows updates. I looked for my antivirus, and lo and behold, it is gone. I googled some stupid shit like "why has my antivirus disappeared ", get some stupid first-result answer, and leave it at that.
Today as I am following my first animation course online (well done me, yay) as I stare at the endless unjustified blue loading circle next to my cursor my idle mind wanders to my nonexistent antivirus, and i figure i should download a new one. So i do, and i run a scan, and it gives me a warning for one problematic file: Win64: Malware-Gen Trojan. Eek, I think, I have only an extremely vague notion of what that is but I'm sure it's no fun. So I find a lovely step by step guide with pictures made for idiots like me which walks me through the installation of a whole parade of malware scans, and the first one finds 22 malware files, of which 5 Trojans, PUMs to disable my firewall, security centre and antivirus, and 15 PUPs including stuff that apparently had to be manually installed by the user even though I've never seen it before, and one lovely shitty cherry on top, the bitcoin miner.
After removing all those I run the next scan, it comes up with loads of new issues. Then I download and run a third scanner, still more problematic files found. And finally one in a file location that gives me some indication as when this started happening: in year 1 of college when I very briefly dipped my toes into a bunch of fancy programs and then never opened them again for not having had the time or energy.
So there we have it folks, my beast processors have been mining bitcoin for someone for what may have been five years while I watched porn and browsed reddit, and now that i actually sat down to do what this laptop was bought to do, instead i am spending entire days ridding it of a wonderful garden of malware that someone has planted and tended. Karma, bitch. And the worst thing is that I will never know exactly what they did, if they were after more than my bitcoin potential, whether they have been accessing other stuff. Tomorrow I'm changing all my passwords and pins, growing a moustache, and moving to Florida. The morale of this story is: live up to the gifts you receive.
TL;DR: I was gifted a brand new gaming laptop to become an animator. I downloaded a bunch of programs, never used them, maintained nonexistent safety practices and was an unknowing bitcoin mine for possibly five years.

Groestlcoin 6th Anniversary Release

Introduction

Dear Groestlers, it goes without saying that 2020 has been a difficult time for millions of people worldwide. The groestlcoin team would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone our best to everyone coping with the direct and indirect effects of COVID-19. Let it bring out the best in us all and show that collectively, we can conquer anything.
The centralised banks and our national governments are facing unprecedented times with interest rates worldwide dropping to record lows in places. Rest assured that this can only strengthen the fundamentals of all decentralised cryptocurrencies and the vision that was seeded with Satoshi's Bitcoin whitepaper over 10 years ago. Despite everything that has been thrown at us this year, the show must go on and the team will still progress and advance to continue the momentum that we have developed over the past 6 years.
In addition to this, we'd like to remind you all that this is Groestlcoin's 6th Birthday release! In terms of price there have been some crazy highs and lows over the years (with highs of around $2.60 and lows of $0.000077!), but in terms of value– Groestlcoin just keeps getting more valuable! In these uncertain times, one thing remains clear – Groestlcoin will keep going and keep innovating regardless. On with what has been worked on and completed over the past few months.

UPDATED - Groestlcoin Core 2.18.2

This is a major release of Groestlcoin Core with many protocol level improvements and code optimizations, featuring the technical equivalent of Bitcoin v0.18.2 but with Groestlcoin-specific patches. On a general level, most of what is new is a new 'Groestlcoin-wallet' tool which is now distributed alongside Groestlcoin Core's other executables.
NOTE: The 'Account' API has been removed from this version which was typically used in some tip bots. Please ensure you check the release notes from 2.17.2 for details on replacing this functionality.

ALL NEW - Groestlcoin Moonshine iOS/Android Wallet

Built with React Native, Moonshine utilizes Electrum-GRS's JSON-RPC methods to interact with the Groestlcoin network.
GRS Moonshine's intended use is as a hot wallet. Meaning, your keys are only as safe as the device you install this wallet on. As with any hot wallet, please ensure that you keep only a small, responsible amount of Groestlcoin on it at any given time.

ALL NEW! – HODL GRS Android Wallet

HODL GRS connects directly to the Groestlcoin network using SPV mode and doesn't rely on servers that can be hacked or disabled.
HODL GRS utilizes AES hardware encryption, app sandboxing, and the latest security features to protect users from malware, browser security holes, and even physical theft. Private keys are stored only in the secure enclave of the user's phone, inaccessible to anyone other than the user.
Simplicity and ease-of-use is the core design principle of HODL GRS. A simple recovery phrase (which we call a Backup Recovery Key) is all that is needed to restore the user's wallet if they ever lose or replace their device. HODL GRS is deterministic, which means the user's balance and transaction history can be recovered just from the backup recovery key.

ALL NEW! – GroestlcoinSeed Savior

Groestlcoin Seed Savior is a tool for recovering BIP39 seed phrases.
This tool is meant to help users with recovering a slightly incorrect Groestlcoin mnemonic phrase (AKA backup or seed). You can enter an existing BIP39 mnemonic and get derived addresses in various formats.
To find out if one of the suggested addresses is the right one, you can click on the suggested address to check the address' transaction history on a block explorer.

ALL NEW! – Vanity Search Vanity Address Generator

NOTE: NVidia GPU or any CPU only. AMD graphics cards will not work with this address generator.
VanitySearch is a command-line Segwit-capable vanity Groestlcoin address generator. Add unique flair when you tell people to send Groestlcoin. Alternatively, VanitySearch can be used to generate random addresses offline.
If you're tired of the random, cryptic addresses generated by regular groestlcoin clients, then VanitySearch is the right choice for you to create a more personalized address.
VanitySearch is a groestlcoin address prefix finder. If you want to generate safe private keys, use the -s option to enter your passphrase which will be used for generating a base key as for BIP38 standard (VanitySearch.exe -s "My PassPhrase" FXPref). You can also use VanitySearch.exe -ps "My PassPhrase" which will add a crypto secure seed to your passphrase.
VanitySearch may not compute a good grid size for your GPU, so try different values using -g option in order to get the best performances. If you want to use GPUs and CPUs together, you may have best performances by keeping one CPU core for handling GPU(s)/CPU exchanges (use -t option to set the number of CPU threads).

ALL NEW! – Electrum Personal Server

Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server aims to make using Electrum Groestlcoin wallet more secure and more private. It makes it easy to connect your Electrum-GRS wallet to your own full node.
It is an implementation of the Electrum-grs server protocol which fulfils the specific need of using the Electrum-grs wallet backed by a full node, but without the heavyweight server backend, for a single user. It allows the user to benefit from all Groestlcoin Core's resource-saving features like pruning, blocks only and disabled txindex. All Electrum-GRS's feature-richness like hardware wallet integration, multi-signature wallets, offline signing, seed recovery phrases, coin control and so on can still be used, but connected only to the user's own full node.
Full node wallets are important in Groestlcoin because they are a big part of what makes the system be trust-less. No longer do people have to trust a financial institution like a bank or PayPal, they can run software on their own computers. If Groestlcoin is digital gold, then a full node wallet is your own personal goldsmith who checks for you that received payments are genuine.
Full node wallets are also important for privacy. Using Electrum-GRS under default configuration requires it to send (hashes of) all your Groestlcoin addresses to some server. That server can then easily spy on your transactions. Full node wallets like Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server would download the entire blockchain and scan it for the user's own addresses, and therefore don't reveal to anyone else which Groestlcoin addresses they are interested in.
Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server can also broadcast transactions through Tor which improves privacy by resisting traffic analysis for broadcasted transactions which can link the IP address of the user to the transaction. If enabled this would happen transparently whenever the user simply clicks "Send" on a transaction in Electrum-grs wallet.
Note: Currently Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server can only accept one connection at a time.

FAQ & Daily General Discussion - December 22, 2017

Welcome!
As only 2 stickied threads are possible, we have decided to combine the "Are you new here" and the daily discussion thread. XRB is attracting more and more people, both veterans and newbies in the cryptoworld. As XRB is quite a bit different than other coins/blockchains, it's normal that a lot of users have (the same) questions. So please, before making a new thread, read this post first and use the search bar! Threads that are created which contain a question to which an answer is available here, will be locked and directed to this post.

Guidelines for posting in this thread:

Questions, debates, meta issues, etc are all welcome. Breaking news should be posted separately from this thread. Rules:

Be respectful to one another. Follow the golden rule. No trolling or shilling.

Guidelines for posting new threads:

Is your thread something that does not fit in the daily thread or in another 'general' thread? Do you have a question, and it's not in the list below? Do you have exiting news to post? Did you use the search bar first? Good, go ahead :-)

The Whitepaper: In logical order, we start with the whitepaper. It contains the complete details about RaiBlocks, including some more technical details. Even if you're not technical, take a quick look at it. It will explain a lot! https://raiblocks.net/media/RaiBlocks_Whitepaper__English.pdf

The FAQs: Now the technical FAQs, a document explaining how it works, how it compares to other coins, ... https://raiblocks.net/media/RaiBlocks_FAQ.pdf

Let's keep a decent overview of other, more practical questions :-)

How do I buy or store XRB? Check out these guides: https://www.reddit.com/RaiBlocks/comments/7i0co0/the_definitive_guide_to_buying_and_storing/ https://www.reddit.com/RaiBlocks/comments/7iv89b/how_to_buy_xrb_without_waiting_for_a_transaction/

My desktop wallet isn't syncing! Do the numbers between the brackets still move? Good. The numbers before the parentheses are the number of blocks the wallet has verified, the numbers between parentheses is the amount of downloaded-but-not-yet-verified blocks. Is the wallet unlocked? Good, it needs to be unlocked to be able to sync. Still nothing? Go to 'accounts' - 'use account'. Still nothing? Close the wallet, reopen it.

What is a representative? Ah, so you haven't read the whitepaper haven't you... When conflicting blocks arise, a vote will have to be cast on which block to accept. Since you won't be online 24/7, you can outsource your voting power to a representative, who are online 24/7. They cannot access your funds, and you can change it anytime.

What is the incentive to run a node? Apart from helping the network and making it more secure, this user gives a detailed answer: https://www.reddit.com/CryptoCurrency/comments/7j4xgt/i_just_sent_1000xrb_from_one_wallet_to_anothedr4l587/

My transaction isn't visible in my wallet or it says 'not pocketed' on the block explorer! Is your wallet fully synced? Yes? Good, it needs to be completely synced before it will show your balances. Nothing? Go to "https://raiblocks.net/account/index.php?acc=ADDRESS HERE". Do you see the transaction there (as 'not pocketed')? Good, that means that it's just a matter of showing it in your wallet, the coins are linked to your address already. In your wallet, go to 'Accounts' - 'Use account', 'Back', 'Advanced' - 'Search for receivables'. Did it work? Good. If not, go to 'Advanced' - 'Account explorer', hit refresh. Still nothing? Close/kill the wallet and reopen it. Still nothing? Go to 'Advanced' and change the unit from Mxrb to xrb and back to Mxrb. Stillll nothing? Fine, make a thread!

The syncing is sooo slow!! On HDD, it can take a couple days for it to sync. Why? Every block is only 400bytes in size, they all need to be written on your HDD. SSD takes about 12h. Check the bottom of this post for a shortcut if you use HDD (or SSD and have no patience :-) ).

My withdrawal from BitGrail/Mercatox isn't working!! BitGrail and Mercatox are having quite some issues, both due to a bug in their RaiBlocks node, and because of being overwelmed. They have to do each withdrawal manually. Log a ticket and have patience! Mercatox support: https://mercatox.com/support BitGrail support: to be added when they're back

We need a new exchange & website & ...!! Indeed, large exchange would be super!. But before that, we need a new website, mobile wallets, ... Those are in the make. Don't ask about the new exchanges, no one knows!

What is the incentive to run a node? There is no monetary reward, but tread this post/comment! https://www.reddit.com/CryptoCurrency/comments/7j4xgt/i_just_sent_1000xrb_from_one_wallet_to_anothedr4l587/

We're limited to 7k TPS, how's that scalable!? The current limitation of 7K TPS is a hardware limitation of writing data to the disk, not a protocol limitation. As hardware improves, so will the TPS limit.

Does the receiver account have to be online when I create my send transaction? No, whenever the send transaction goes out, the funds are "not pocketed" by the receiver. The funds are as good as the receivers and cannot be revoked by the sender. "Not pocketed" funds do NOT expire.

What are "not pocketed" funds? A transaction consists of a "send" and a "receive" transaction. During the period where a "send" doesn't have its partnering "receive" transaction, the accounts are considered "not pocketed" by the recipient. "Not pocketed" funds are securely the receiver's funds. Once the receiver's wallet comes online, is fully synced, and unlocked, the funds will automatically be signed into their account chain.

What are the requirements to run a node? Currently the only real recommendation is to have a fast storage medium, such as an SSD instead of HDD. This is because currently the full node software does a lot of disk I/O for rapidly processing transactions. This may change with future full node versions that better utilize available system RAM and relax disk I/O.

What do the numbers at the top of the desktop wallet mean? The numbers will look like: processed (unprocessed downloaded) Where "processed" is the number of downloaded blocks that your node has processed, and "unprocessed downloaded" are blocks that your software has downloaded but not processed yet. To be fully synced, all blocks must be processed. As new transactions are created on the network, they will be downloaded into the "unprocessed" category to be subsequently processed.

How can I run a full node? The desktop wallet is already a full node! Just by running it you are helping

Can I send funds to my wallet before it is synced? Yes. Funds can be sent to any "xrb_" address, even if they were created in an offline environment. RaiBlocks is exactly the same as ethereum or bitcoin in this sense. The funds will show up when the wallet is fully synced with the network. Make sure to back up your seed!

How do I backup my wallet? Just write down your seed and keep it in a safe place. All accounts generated from that seed will be generated again (in order) when you restore that seed.

Can I reuse an address? Yes, unlike IOTA you can reuse addresses like in Bitcoin and Ethereum. Please understand the reasoning for this; IOTA does this because it is a drawback to the quantum-proof digital signature algorithm they use. RaiBlocks' current digital signature algorithm is not quantum proof, but the devs have expressed interest in changing to a quantum-proof algortihm as the field matures and quantum computers become a more significant threat to the network.

What's up with the units? Currently the ticker XRB on exchanges represents 1 Mxrb (or million xrb). As the name suggests, 1Mxrb = 1000000 xrb. The smallest unit of RaiBlocks is the raw. There are 1024 raw in an xrb, or 1030 raw in an Mxrb/XRB. Whenever people are talking, they are generally talking in XRB or equivalently Mxrb

What is the max supply? The max supply is 133,248,290 XRB. For units see the question above. Why this number? Well RaiBlock's value is kept in a uint128 variable (unsigned 128-bit integer). An uint128 has max value (2128)-1, which is approximately 340,282,366,920,938,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. This was the original number of "raw" in RaiBlocks. RaiBlocks was distributed via a Captcha faucet distribution system; of which 133,248,290 XRB were distributed. Due to some non-technical issues, the faucet distribution was cut short and the remaining quantity was burned. This leaves just 133,248,290 XRB (approximately 133,248,290,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 raw) circulating.

Can someone access my funds even if I use a password (desktop wallet) Yes. The password feature of the desktop wallet just encrypts the seed locally on your computer. If anyone gets access to your plaintext (unencrypted seed, the thing we tell you to backup) they have access to your funds. The benefit of the password is that if someone has access to your computer, they don't immediately have access to your raiblocks.

Whats a seed? What's a private key? Whats a public key? Any time you set up a Raiblocks address (such as creating a new wallet) , you will be provided with a "Seed" which is 64 characters of text that is unique to your wallet. Do not store your seed online (e.g do not screenshot, email or save it in a file) because anyone with the seed can access all accounts on it and take all of your Rai! The reason why it is provided is so that if for any reason you need to recover your account(s) you can do so without the original wallet you created the account on, so keep it safe!

Tips & Tricks * Transferring BTC between exchanges can be expensive and relatively fast (think hour(s)), or cheap and slow (think a few days). LTC or ETH transfers are faster, but make sure to check the discrepancy in BTC-LTC or BTC-ETH prices on markets with low volume! * 1 XRB as bought on an exchange is 1 million xrb, aka Rai. 1 Rai = 1024th raw, the smallest units on the RaiBlocks network. * 'Not pocketed' can stay like that indefinitely. If you want to spend the coins, you'll have to sync your wallet and create a 'RECEIVE' block though (this is done by Advanced - Check for receivables in the desktop wallet).

Want to try out the instant transactions without any fees? Check out This link

Daily update of data.ldb for 1st sync (December 22th, 2017) Want to skip the long sync time? Save your seed, check Readme.txt if you are going to use this method to speed up 1st wallet sync! Confirm the checksums/links in the #support channel at https://chat.raiblocks.net/. It's usually posted by core dev SergSW. This link or this slightly newer one will guide you through it, but use the links below for the most recent files.

On OSX, use the Linux files. Replace them in /Users/Library/RaiBlocks/. A Mac can be found here.

Guide to getting more FPS. Some simple stuff and random tricks I found to work.

EDIT: IF YOU WERE GETTING THE DXGI.DLL FILE ERROR PLEASE DOWNLOAD RESHADE v3.1.1 HERE http://www.mediafire.com/file/h3b0l50e8dsv8j3/ReShade_Setup_3.1.1.exe AND REINSTALL THEN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE RESHADE
I decided to make an FPS guide for people struggling to keep their FPS up. There is a ton of stuff you can do to get FPS but the more you do the worse the game will look. It includes simple stuff like editing config files as well as doing stuff like running the game in DirectX10 and dropping your resolution scaling for decent FPS boosts and then using Reshade to get the visual quality back while holding onto the FPS gains. I was able to get about an extra 70-100 fps on average depending on the map doing the stuff below. Here are before and after screenshots:
Here are my computer specs as a reference which is on the higher end with the exception of my videocard (suck a dick bitcoin miners): https://i.imgur.com/TE1whwN.png
Most of the FPS issues with the game stem from how the game is rendering textures so anything you can do to have less and less visible textures the more your FPS will inscrease.
Before you dive into this guide it is probably wise to .zip/.rar any config files you want to save incase you goof something up or just dont like what it looks like.
First, obviously turn everything you can to low in the videosettings. Here is an example of the FPS increase just from having the video settings changed from Ultra to Low.
From here on out all the screenshots will show the FPS with the video settings set to low.
Within your "custom.config" there are a few settings that you can change even though there is no menu option to do so. Your custom config settings can be found at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battalion 1944\Battalion\configs\custom". Here is a link to my current custom.config file:
It may not include EVERYTHING that can be changed since I very well may miss some stuff but it is what I am currently playing with. If you edit this file manually you must maintain the syntax exactly. Things can be added and removed but If you do not have every command in there formatted EXACTLY as "shadowQuality": 0, then your config file will not work and the game will launch with all sorts of fucked up settings.
In the menu settings, just create a new custom.config file (itll show as custom1.config or custom2.config etc within your steamapps\common\Battalion 1944\Battalion\configs\custom folder as im sure most of you know), open it up and then copy/paste my config settings into it. You will have to change your resolution, mouse settings etc. Here are screenshots to show the FPS gains going from stock ultra settings to low settings and now just a few config file edits almost doubling my own FPS:
So that more or less ends the simple .ini/config editing for more FPS. From what I can tell, the Engine.ini and other .ini files can no longer be fully edited to do stuff like increase lodbias and edit lighting/shadows fully to do anything like this https://i.imgur.com/echGUwf.jpg anymore. That config was done entirely by editing the .ini files but alas, I think the devs locked it all up.
If you are REALLY struggling with FPS here are a few tricks that may help you squeeze out a little bit more performance while also increasing visibility depending on the settings you use.
You can force the game to run in DirectX10. Doing so can increase your FPS but also potentially make your game dark as hell. I will address that in a bit.
The FPS increase in training doesnt look like much compared to how fucking awful it may look to some of you but while playing online it maintain your FPS at a higher level due to not fully rendering everything as it would if you run in DirectX11. Especially in busier servers/maps. But as you can see you get even more FPS.
What I have done to counteract the lack of lighting is install Reshade and enable some of the filters to brighten the game up as seen here:
You MUST download and install Reshade version 3.1.1 or earlier. The latest version of Reshade apparently doesnt not work with Battalion. To do this download Reshade here http://www.mediafire.com/file/h3b0l50e8dsv8j3/ReShade_Setup_3.1.1.exe and do the following:
Another thing you can do with Reshade is lower your game resolution or resolution quality to get an FPS boost. It will make your game look like dogshit depending on how low you set it. However you can get clarity and sharpness back through Reshade options. Here are a couple of screenshots of my game with a resolution quality of 75 @ 1920x1080 with Reshade disabled and then enabled.
From the screenshots it may look like there isnt much different in clarity or the game is unplayable but once you join a server I find it to work well. Depending on your system this can be ALL over the place as far as results go but if you tinker with the filters and game settings you should be able to squeeze some more FPS out.
There isnt much more I have been able to find without making the game graphics more or less unplayable. If I can figure out how to edit more .ini comands I will update this post, however I think the devs locked up the majority of the Cvars.
Hope this works for you goobers!
EDIT: Im still working on configs through .ini editing so as I find more stuff Ill update the top this post to reflect the changes.
Testimonials:

you sir are a fucking god
idk what the fuck is in your config but my game runs smooth as fuck
like i didnt need the fps
BUT HOLY FUCK i dont stutter at all lol

Just as the title says, i just need some help on what i need to do to get updated to the latest version of Bitcoin Cash ABC.
EDIT: Here is a quick recap of what i did.
I was previously running Bitcoin Cash ABC 0.18.5 on a Windows 7 Pro 64bit home server. I now downloaded the updated binaries from here (https://download.bitcoinabc.org/0.18.6/win/) and unzipped the file bitcoin-abc-0.18.6-win64.zip inside my downloads folder. Went into the bin file and opened the bitcoin-qt application and i was all set to go! Everything running just like it was.
Thanks for the help.

COSMiC v4.0a Public Test - The Easy-To-Use 0xBitcoin and ERC-918 Token Miner for nVidia/CUDA Devices (Windows 64-bit)

Release Thread: https://www.reddit.com/0xbitcoin/comments/c1590e/cosmic_v413t_update_nvidiacuda_win64_guibased/
Thanks!
Hello, 0xBitcoin Community! I'm happy to share my work with you today! This is a brand new CUDA miner for Pool-Mining 0xBitcoin and similar ERC-918 tokens like 0xBitcoinCash/0xKIWI. I've rewritten COSMiC from the ground up, using the best parts of v3.4 (the fastest/most stable release prior to this one.) Presenting, COSMiC V4! As I add more features to this miner, my goal is to make it as simple and pleasant to use as possible for newcomers to 0xBitcoin and mining in general.
SCREENSHOTS:
DOWNLOAD: (Out-Of-Date: See v4.0.1 link above)
FEATURES:
WHAT'S COMING SOON:
COMPATIBILITY:
Should work on nVidia(CUDA) cards Kepler(6xx-series) and up. Tested on Maxwell Gen2(9xx) and Pascal (GTX10x0). Developed on Windows 10. Should work on 8.1 and up (probably works on 7.) This is a 64-bit application and expects a 64-bit version of Windows.
Non-English Windows Users: **If the program crashes or doesn't launch when you double-click Cosmic.exe, please open the file Cosmic.exe.Config and change the 1.5 to read 1,5 - This is a bug with how decimal points are handled by a Windows function. I will add a fix right away. This workaround will hopefully fix the issue for you in the meantime. :) You should not need to edit the Config file manually in any other circumstance- just use the Options->Configure... menu item to quickly get set up.
You can probably also change this setting in Windows' 'Region & Language Settings' > 'Additional Date, Time and Regional Settings' > 'Change Date, Time or Number Formats' > 'Additional Settings' > Decimal Symbol `.`
HOW TO USE:
This is a brand new miner and as such only runs one GPU per instance. Multi-GPU support coming soon. See below for more info on using multiple GPUs.
MULTI-GPU INSTRUCTIONS:
A WORD ON INTENSITIES:
PERFORMANCE TIPS:
Please let me know what you think and help me to make this the best miner that it can be. :) I can be found here on Reddit or, for a faster response, look for me on the Discord (see sidebar) with the username @LtTofu [ Mag517 ]
Thanks for your support and feedback!
